Description

This Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal will change how you view plain old oatmeal. It's warm, just enough sweetness, and with the chopped apples takes it to a whole new level.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 medium apples, chopped


Instructions

  1. In a 4 quart pot over medium to high heat, add rolling oats, water, milk, ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and chopped apples.
  2. Bring to a boil, then to a simmer; simmer for 10-15 minutes until the oatmeal is fully cooked.
  3. Apples will have a bit of a crunch to them.

Notes

  • It might seem like a lot of liquid, but it’s not. Oatmeal absorbs a lot of liquid when cooking.
