Description

Carne Molida con Papas, which is ground beef with potatoes. This recipe is a staple Mexican dish using ground beef with onion and garlic, a mix of delicious seasoning, and paired with peeled diced potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale

2 tablespoons oil (any neutral oil will work)

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

23 garlic cloves, minced

1 cup water

1 tablespoon chicken bouillon

2 teaspoons garlic powder

2 teaspoons paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1 bay leaf

1 pound russet potatoes, peeled and diced

Instructions

  1. In a 10-inch pan over medium heat, add oil, and once the pan is hot, add ground beef, onion, and garlic.
  2. Brown the ground beef for 5-10 minutes until it’s fully cooked. You will know it’s fully cooked when the ground beef has turned color.
  3. Once the ground beef is browned and fully cooked, add water, chicken bouillon, garlic powder, paprika, salt, ground cumin, and potatoes; mix well.
  4. Bring to a boil, then down to a simmer and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the potatoes are fully cooked. You will know when the potatoes are done when you poke them with a fork and they are soft.
