Description

Do you need a quick dinner idea? Here’s an Easy Chicken Breast in Marinara Sauce. The sauce requires minimal ingredients, and the chicken is the show’s star.

Ingredients

Scale

1 15 oz can tomato sauce or 2 8 oz can

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoon garlic powder

2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

2 teaspoon dry oregano

1/2 tablespoon sugar

2 tablespoon tomato paste

2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast

Instructions

  1. In a 3-4 quart pot over medium to high heat, place tomato sauce, salt, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, dry oregano, sugar, and tomato paste; mix well and bring to a boil.
  2. Place chicken in the pot and cover with a lid; bring the pot to low. It may seem like there isn’t enough liquid, but once it is covered, it will release liquid.
  3. Cook on low for 40-50 minutes until the chicken shreds quickly.

Notes

If you are short on time, cut chicken breast into 1-inch strips. This way, the chicken breast will cook faster.
