The weather is still a bit chilly here, where we are at and what always sounds comforting is a bowl of chili. Here is a great Simple Turkey Chili that can be made in under 30 minutes, and it’s very flavorful.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons oil
1 medium onion, diced
2 lbs ground turkey
2 1-oz chili packet seasoning
1 can chili beans
1 10-oz can Rotel mild diced tomatoes
3 cups beef broth
sour cream (optional) to be used as a topping
shredded cheddar cheese (optional) to be used as a topping
green onion chopped (optional) to be used as a topping
Instructions
1. In a 4-quart pot over medium to high heat, place oil; once the oil is hot, add the diced onions and ground turkey. Begin breaking apart the ground turkey with a meat chopper or a cooking spoon. Cook for 10-12 minutes until the ground turkey is no longer pink and the onions are a bit translucent.
2. Once the onions and ground turkey are cooked, add the chili beans, Rotel canned tomatoes, chili seasoning packets, and beef broth; mix well, bring to a boil, and then down to a simmer for 15 minutes.
3. Begin to severing, you can top the turkey chili with a dollop of sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and some chopped green onions.
Notes
You can store any remaining turkey chili in an airtight container and placed in the refrigerator for up to five days.Â
