Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pounds beef chuck roast ( cut into 1-inch pieces )
  • 34 medium potatoes (cut into 1/21 inch pieces )
  • 45 celery stalks (cut into 1/21 inch pieces )
  • 34 medium carrots (cut into 1/21 inch pieces )
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 3/4 cup barley
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 67 cups beef broth (or you can use any broth you like.)


Instructions

  1. In a medium pan over high heat, you want the pan to be hot. Add a little oil, sear the beef chuck roast for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  2. Add beef chuck roast, potatoes, carrots, celery, sliced onion, mushrooms, barley, tomato paste, bay leaf, salt, black pepper, and beef broth in the slow cooker.
  3. Mix well; cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours. Until the vegetables are soft and the beef chuck roast almost falls apart.
