Here is much healthier option to regular lemonade, Healthy Refreshing Turmeric Lemonade.

Turmeric is amazing, it helps with inflammation in your body, mucus build up, strengthens your immune system and enhances digestion. Yes, many things are good for you as long as you stay consistent.

It’s spring now but summer is just around corner. When summer is here I like to be ready with easy recipes. Always keeping in mind that turning on the stove or oven is always out of the question, the house it just gets TOO HOT.

Typically our summer menus consists of sandwiches, salads, whole fruits, smoothies, cold water, some packaged snacks (not something always proud of) and cereal.

I make this Chickpea “Tuna” Salad all the time during the summer.

When It comes to drinks usually my kids always ask for water but there are times they want something else. Sodas I don’t buy, only when we have birthday party’s. It makes me happy that the kids are liking this Healthy Refreshing Turmeric Lemonade.

I have been having my ginger and turmeric shots in the mornings, about 2-3 times a week for about 3 years now. I’ve noticed a difference in how I feel when I’m consistent in drinking my shots. Honestly, it takes a while to get used to. But having it in a lemonade and only with the turmeric is delicious.

Turmeric is used in many dishes but here I am adding it to lemonade.

Here you would need a juicer to juice the turmeric root. Now there are stores that sell turmeric juice in a form of shots that you could use.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric juice
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 16 oz water
  • 23 tablespoon maple syrup (depends on how sweet you like it )


Instructions

  1. Mix turmeric juice, lemon juice, water and maple syrup.
  2. Enjoy.
