Description
This Simple Cranberry Apple Sauce Recipe is made with five ingredients. It’s tangy, with just enough sweetness from the apple and brown sugar.Â

- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 medium apple, chopped
- 12 oz bag fresh cranberries
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)
Instructions
- In a 2 quart pot over medium to high heat. Place orange juice, chopped apple, and brown sugar; mix well. Bring to a boil, then to a simmer, and simmer for 3 minutes. You want to cook the apple a little bit.
- Then add the cranberries and grated ginger (optional), mix well, and simmer for 8 minutes. The cranberries will begin to pop.
- Once the cranberries are cooked, turn off the stove. With the back of your spoon, begin to mash the cranberries. It will look a little runny, but once it begins to cool, it will start to thickenÂ
Notes
- Place any remaining cranberry apple sauce into an airtight container and in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
