Whenever we make this dish, it becomes a celebration, a reason to gather and enjoy each other’s company. We take our time to make to prep it and make it. I feel it’s the prepping and cooking part of it that makes it most enjoyable.
In this recipe, you can also grill it outside on the grill, making it taste so much better. But you can also grill it inside on a skillet.

Ingredients
- Flap meat– This cut of meat makes it perfect for grilling. If you go to a Mexican grocery store the name of this cut of meat is Ranchera.
- Lemon juice– After juicing the lemon save the peel, you will be adding it to meat when marinating.
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Cilantro
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, place flap meat, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and cilantro; mix well.
- Cut lemon peels in four and add those to the bowl.
- Let marinate for 10-15 mintues.
- In a hot large skillet, add a little oil, and place marinated meat onto the hot skillet.
- Cook for 5 minutes, flip and cook for another 5 minutes; only flip once.
- You want it to be fully cooked.
