Ingredients to make Simple Turkey Chili in under 30 minutes.

This recipe has bold flavors you wouldn’t think it had, very minimal ingredients, and everyone would love it.

One night, well, just like most nights, I don’t know what I’m going to make for dinner. But this one night, I used what I had on hand. I had ground turkey that I took out of the freezer a couple of days ago, chili packets that I had bought last month, a can of Rotel, a can of chili beans, leftover broth, and onions I always have on hand. And this is what I put together: turkey chili.

Let’s start making Simple Turkey Chili

Ingredients

Oil– You can use any neutral oil, such as vegetable oil, avocado oil, or canola oil.

Onion– You can use a white or brown onion; either one works just the same.

Ground turkey

Chili seasoning– I like to use the pre-portioned packets of chili seasoning.

Rotel Diced Tomatoes– These types of tomatoes are diced and can be found in cans with added diced green chiles.

Beef broth– You can use chicken broth, vegetable broth, or even water, but the beef broth gives it the best flavor.

Sour cream– The sour cream is optional; it’s used as a topping.

Shredded cheddar cheese– The shredded cheddar cheese is optional; it’s used as a topping.

Green onions– The green onions are optional; they are used as a topping.

Instructions

1. In a 4-quart pot over medium to high heat, place oil; once the oil is hot, add the diced onions and ground turkey. Begin breaking apart the ground turkey with a meat chopper or a cooking spoon. Cook for 10-12 minutes until the ground turkey is no longer pink and the onions are a bit translucent.

2. Once the onions and ground turkey are cooked, add the chili beans, Rotel canned tomatoes, chili seasoning packets, and beef broth; mix well, bring to a boil, and then down to a simmer for 15 minutes.

3. Begin to severing, you can top the turkey chili with a dollop of sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and some chopped green onions.
