Why make this 3 Ingredient Chili recipe

  • It will make your life easier when your family asks for chili, but you don’t have the time to make it the traditional way.
  • It makes a great meal prep for the week. You will only have to reheat it, and you have yourself a meal.
  • You will be surprised how easy it is to make. And it will become a recipe that you will keep in your back pocket.

I love the chili that I have on my site, but sometimes I want to make it, but time escapes me. So, I had to think of a quicker way to make chili.

It was an actual time when I was going to make chili dogs for dinner, and I was short on time, but I really did not want to buy the Hormel can of chili. And that’s when I came up with this recipe.

How to use this 3 Ingredient Chili

  • On top of hot dogs.
  • On top of mashed potatoes with some shredded cheese on top.
  • You can make chili cheese fries.
  • You make some cornbread on the side.
  • Or just on its own with shredded cheese on top.

How to store

  • Any remaining store in an airtight container and in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • If you add beans to the chili, store any remaining in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.

How to reheat

  • If using a microwave, place chili in a microwave-safe bowl and add a couple of tablespoons of water. Heat on high for one-minute increments and mix the chili in between until heated through.
  • The best way to reheat would be over the stovetop. Place chili in a pot and add a couple of tablespoons of water over medium to high heat until heated through.

Substitutions

  • You can use ground turkey or ground chicken if you don’t have ground beef or don’t care for ground beef.
  • Most traditional chili recipes have beans; by all means, add your choice of beans.

Let’s start making Quick 3 Ingredient Chili

Ingredients

  • Ground Beef– I like to use 90/10 percent fat. But you can use any type you prefer.
  • Chili Seasoning– Here, you can use any brand of chili seasoning. I see that even the store brands have their own chili seasoning.
  • Tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Add oil to a pan over medium to high heat and wait for it to heat up. Then add your ground beef and break it apart with a meat chopper.
  2. Cook the ground beef for 4-5 minutes until it’s no longer pink. Depending on how much fat ground beef has, remove any excess fat at this time.
  3. Once fully cooked, add your chili seasoning and mix well. Then add the can of tomato sauce and the cup of water, mix well, bring to a boil, then to a simmer for 10-15 minutes.
