The Best Easy Chili

This chili is so good I’m calling it The Best Easy Chili. You will never go back to buying it from the can. It’s easy to make and packed with flavor, it makes it a win win situation.

I have always wanted to make a good chili to use on hot dogs. So I can stop buying the one from the can. I’ve tried so many different recipes and they all have something that my family does not like. What they do not like are beans in it and big pieces of tomatoes in it.

After making so many different types of chili in search of the perfect one. I finally have found the best recipe for one.

Most chili’s require many hours of simmering so the flavors can intensify. This one does not require many hours of simmering. What I love about this? is it can be made in less than an hour.

Spring is here and summer is around the corner, which means grilling and barbecues. You can not have a barbecue without a good chili.

The Best Easy Chili

Let’s start making it

First you start by dicing your onion and mincing your garlic. Sauté for 5 mins until they become a bit translucent.

Add your ground beef and brown until you no longer see pink. Depending on the type of ground beef you are using, meaning the fat %. If you are using a higher fat % make sure you drain the fat. If you are using a lower fat % you do not need to do this.

Add your spices, tomato sauce and water bring to a boil. Once it boils bring to a simmer and simmer for 30 mins. Then add your flour and water mixture, this is to thicken the sauce a bit. The flour and water mixture is the secret, it thickens it up. Making it taste close to the can that people are used to.

This chili is super easy to make and packed with flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon water (for flour mixture)


Instructions

  1. In a pot with a little oil saute diced onion and minced garlic, for about 5 mins until they translucent.
  2. Add ground beef and brown until no longer pink, remove the fat if needed.
  3. Add chili powde, paprika, garlic powder, salt, tomato sauce and water.
  4. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 30 mins.
  5. Mix the flour and water, it will look like a paste and add it to the chili, simmer for another 10 mins.
