Here are After-School Snacks Ideas to Make for Teens and Kids. Because when my kids come home from school, they are hangry.
Who is ready for back to school? I am. One of my dilemmas is figuring out after-school snacks; this time, it will be for both teens and kids. Snacks need to be semi-healthy, filling but not too filling to where they will still have an appetite for dinner, and easy to make or put together.
Here are a few ideas
Fruit cups
These easy fruit cups are much healthier than mixed fruit in corn syrup.
Muffins
You can never go wrong with muffins. What is also great is that they can be made ahead of time. (listed below are the muffins from the pictures above from left to right).
Bean Burritos
Burritos are always great because the kids can quickly heat them alone. And also can be made ahead of time. These refried beans are the BEST. At our house, we don’t eat them any other way.
Pasta salad
I know pasta salad is a side dish, but I sometimes use it as the main course. For us, this makes a great afternoon snack. It’s light, not too heavy but filling. It will do its job of keeping them satisfied.
