Ingredients

  • Flour
  • Baking soda
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Sugar– I use regular cane sugar but you can use brown sugar.
  • Mashed bananas– Everyone knows, making banana bread is the best way to use up those bananas nobody ate.
  • Butter– Butter needs to be melted and cooled before using.
  • Eggs– Eggs are best at room temperature for baking.
  • Chopped waltnuts- You can also use pecans, macadamia nuts, peanuts, or any kind of nut you have or prefer. And again nuts are optional.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, grease, or line a 9 x 5 bread pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Place flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a small bowl; mix well and set aside.
  3. Place mashed banana, butter, and eggs in a medium bowl; mix well.
  4. Add flour mixture to the banana mixture; mix until well incorporated, then fold in walnuts (optional). The batter will be lumpy.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared bread pan.
  6. Bake bread for 50-55 minutes, until the toothpick comes out clean.

  • 2 1/2 cups mashed banana (or 5-6 medium very ripe bananas )
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted (and cooled)
  • 2 eggs (room temperature )
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional )

Notes

  • Melt your butter first and set it aside so the butter can cooled down by the time you need to add it to your banana mixture.
  • Also, if you have your eggs in the refrigerator, take them out before you start. Set them on the counter, this way they’re not too cold for when it’s time to add them to the banana mixture.
